موضوع علم ديناميك سازه عبارت است از محاسبه پاسخ سازه ها در برابر بارهاي ديناميكي. منظور از پاسخ سازه كميت هايي نظير تغييرمكان، سرعت، شتاب، عكس العمل تكيه گاه، نيروهاي داخلي و تنش ها و كرنش هـا مـي باشـد. منظور از بارهاي ديناميكي بارهايي است كه مقدار يا محل اثر يا جهت آنها تابعي از زمان باشد.
